March was a busy month! PTA held a variety of activities in March to give JIES families the chance to get together.
We started off the month off with a Parents Night Out with dinner at a Mediterranean restaurant – AL DIWAN (http://aldiwan-tokyo.com/) It was a nice opportunity for the parents to get together to enjoy good food, drink and conversation.
What could be be better than bunnies, guinea pigs, ponies and boating? Seeing those things together with friends! On Saturday March 11th, PTA organized a family outing at Himonya Park to play. The kids had a great time visiting the petting zoo, riding ponies and just running around playing in the park. Several families also rented row boats to explore the small lake. It was difficult to get the kids to leave at the end of the day, and we look forward to the next PTA outing in May. We hope you can join us!
Lastly, we learned how to make two different types of fried rice at our Malaysian cooking class. At the end of the class we were able to eat our creations, and it was so delicious there were no leftovers to bring home to the rest of the family members. We all agreed these were dishes we would make again at home, and are looking forward to the next Malaysian cooking class. Hope to see you there!
