About Saturday School in Shinagawa International School Saturday School is an all-English program for children in which they can enjoy the atmosphere of an international school. Organized into three terms in a school year, each term we focus on different themes which are educational, interesting and engaging for children. Children do various activities related to the theme of the week, such as listening to stories, doing arts and crafts, singing songs and playing games all in English, however we do also welcome those who have limited or no English. There are 2 age groups: Kinder age 3-5 and Primary G1-G6.

Ownership: depending on the program, you will have a partly fixed and flexible schedule, supporting the same groups of students all year long.

Work hours: Lessons normally end around 12:00.

Morning Class (Morning Class 9:30-12:00)

Preparation Time: 12:00 – 13:00  or  12:30 -13:30

Work Details Prepare for the lessons (set up the classroom, review lesson plans, clean up materials)

plan a half day schedule with language art, numeracy, writing, play centers and reading sections (maximum of 16 students / class)

Work together with school staff to provide high quality lessons and customer service.

Detail Shinagawa International School (SIS) is seeking School Bus Assistants who ride on school bus with students in the afternoon. School Bus Assistants are responsible for taking attendance, making sure all students’ safety during their ride, sending them to parents at each bus stop and contacting parents by phone when necessary.

Work Location: Route 1: From SIS Tokyo Campus– Shinagawa – Meguro-Shinjuku-Ikebukuro

Work Location: Route 2: From SIS Tokyo Campus – Odaiba – Ariake – Shinonome – Toyosu – Tatsumi – Shinkiba

Work Location: Route 3: Shibuya -Aoyama – Akasaka – Hiroo -Shirokane Takanawa –Shibaura –Konan

Hours: Weekdays : either 16:00-17:30 or 15:00-16:30

(3 or 4 days a week is also possible)

Title of Position: Volunteers for After School Program (ASP)

Experience working with children

Detail Shinagawa International School (SIS) is seeking volunteers from the wider community to teach an After School Programme (ASP). It is also a good opportunity for tutors who would like to expand their target audience.

There is no set area for the ASP, but our students enjoy recreational classes that help them relax, socialize and enjoy. Examples of past and current ASPs are:

-Calligraphy
-Tae Kwon-Do
-Drawing & Crafts
-Origami
-Dance

The ASP is organized in ten-week blocks per term and the times are 3:15~3:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.

Although we are looking for volunteers, Shinagawa International School (SIS) will be happy to reimburse the transportation expenses as a sign of gratitude. Web links will also be published on the school’s web site for those who wish to do extend their business to the Shinagawa International School (SIS) community.
