Arts Week

Students celebrated the arts in many ways here at SIS during our very first Arts Week! We watched career videos from an actor, an illustrator, and several museum employees in order to learn more about different career paths in the arts. The whole school collaborated on an Arts Week Poster, third grade created installation art to decorate the hallway, and the younger students practiced action painting with yarn! Finally, at the end of the week, we had a festival. Grade 5 and 6 worked hard to prepare carnival games inspired by artists (old and new), and during the festival, Grade 5 and 6 had to run their own carnival games. We learned that the arts can benefit different communities, and through donations to play the carnival games, we were able to donate the funds to charity! Overall, a great first Arts Week!
