It is with great excitement that we would like to announce that beginning in the 2020/2021 academic year (September 2020) Shinagawa International School (SIS) will offer a Middle School Inquiry Learning Programme. The Middle School Inquiry Learning Programme will be an extension of your child’s current Primary Years Programme (PYP). We are making preparations to apply for candidacy as a Middle Years Programme (MYP) School and take our senior school students through the International Baccalaureate (IB) World School learning experience from Grade 7-10.
Each year, we will add an additional year level to allow your child to continue their education at our wonderful school. Our International Baccalaureate (IB) Coordinator and Teachers are dedicated to developing an innovative, world class programme for your children that allows them to develop self-efficacy, thinking skills, communication skills, research skills, self management skills and social skills together with a sense of international mindedness. We are proud of the diverse group of students and families that learn and interact harmoniously together At Shinagawa International School (SIS), from all parts of the world.
In Grades 7-10, students will learn through a transdisciplinary programme the following:
- English language
- Language and Literature
- Social Studies
- Japanese Language
- Physical Education
- Visual Arts/Performing Arts
- Digital Technology and Design
The students will continue to enjoy Field Trips, learning walks in the local community and we will host School Camps and Educational Offsite Projects throughout the course of the programme.
This is an achievement, we as a growing school, are proud to share with you. We look forward to continuing to work with your family and children to develop them as a whole person in a genuinely global education.
