SIS Secondary School Campus is located nearby Shinagawa Seaside/Aomonoyokocho Stations and offers classes of Grades 6 to 10 by the 2022-2023 Academic Year. Each year, SIS will add an additional grade level to allow all children to continue their education at our new campus.

Middle Years Programme

Shinagawa International School (SIS) is an IB World School authorized to deliver the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) in Grades 6-10.Middle Years Program logo

The MYP curriculum framework is an interdisciplinary programme that promotes students’ agency, inquiry, and reflection. Through conceptual understanding, skills, and knowledge, it encourages students to make connections with the real work and to be lifelong learners. MYP not only helps students to think about local and global communities but provides them with opportunities to develop leadership skills.

Diploma Programme

SIS aims to open Grade 11 in the 2024-25 academic year and plans to implement the IB Diploma Programme for Grades 11-12.diploma programme model

The Diploma Programme (DP) is a comprehensive education program intended for 16-19-year-old students as the pinnacle of their International Baccalaureate (IB) studies. DP is a well-rounded and demanding academic programme that includes final examinations to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to excel in their post-secondary education and future life endeavors. DP aims to cater to students’ intellectual, social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Shinagawa International School is a Candidate School* for the IB Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that SIS believes is important for our students.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP).
