Early Learning Center

At our Aoyoko Campus, learners aged 3 to 5 begin their educational journeys at the Early Learning Center with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Early Years curriculum.

Learning Through Play and Exploration

Our vibrant learning environment encourages play, discovery, and exploration through selected units of inquiry, where students engage in activities like construction, art, cognitive, language, dramatic, and sensory play. During this phase, students are introduced to the PYP’s Approaches to Learning skills: Thinking, Communication, Social, Self-Management, and Research.

Guiding Development with Approaches to Learning

Through these approaches, teachers help students understand the world by engaging them in talk, play, shared stories, and collaborative exploration, while also introducing the foundational concepts of language and mathematics.

Fostering Ownership and Inquiry

In the classroom, students take responsibility for their learning using an inquiry-based approach, involving curiosity, exploration, learning, sharing, reflecting, and taking action both within and beyond the school community.

Perceptual Motor Programme (PMP)

Children are also introduced to the PYP’s Perceptual Motor Programme (PMP), which helps develop essential motor skills for classroom activities. The PMP focuses on improving both fine and gross motor skills in a fun, holistic, and organized way.

Our sensory bins, outdoor recess blocks, nature walks, swimming classes, music sessions, and other activities allow children to engage all five senses in meaningful ways within the learning environment. As they interpret and make sense of their school community, their confidence grows, encouraging them to take risks and ownership of the contributions they can make in the world.
